What is Oryza® 3:1:1 Ceramide Skin Moisturizer?
Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer is designed to treat dry skin conditions and to manage and relieve burning and itching associated with various types of dermatoses, including atopic dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis, and radiation dermatitis. The Ceramides that are an essential part of this cream/lotion, are located in the stratum corneum of the skin and play important roles in maintaining barrier function, and protecting the skin against various foreign damages. Oryza® Ceramide is suitable to be used as, supplement for prevention against aging and rejuvenating stressed skin.
Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer is to be used to treat dry skin conditions and to manage and relieve the burning and itching associated with various types of dermatoses, including atopic dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis, and radiation dermatitis. Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer helps to relieve dry, waxy skin by maintaining a moist wound and skin environment, which is beneficial to the healing process.
Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer creates a skin environment beneficial to the healing process in patients with Atopic Dermatitis. The Delivery Technology is based on a unique proprietary system consisting of multi-component microspheres that contain submicron spheres. These submicron spheres are infused with the physiological lipid in an active form. Rubbing the emulsion onto the skin triggers this two-step delivery system. Once the microsphere is broken the submicron spheres gradually release the lipids over time. The special microsphere structure stabilizes the lipids from premature oxidation, maintaining the integrity of the product.
Ceramide, Cholesterol, and Free-Fatty Acids form the natural moisturizer of the human skin in a 3:1:1 ratio. Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer delivers and replaces lost ceramides, cholesterol, and free-fatty acids in the same unique 3:1:1 ratio. Besides locking moisture to keep skin soft, smooth, and healthy, Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer also naturally protects the skin against aging and the sun.
Oryza® Slow Release Skin Barrier Emulsion is an OTC topical skin-barrier protection and moisturization product developed for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. Oryza® contains 3 essential lipids-ceramides, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), and cholesterol in a physiologically balanced patented 3:1:1 ratio. Oryza®, with its unique formulation and delivery system, helps address skin barrier protection. It is also steroid-free, non-comedogenic, and propylene glycol-free.
Oryza® Moisturizer contains Ceramide, Free Fatty Acid, and Ethyl Linoleate in an Emollient Base;
Ceramide – ceramides are made up of long-chain fatty acids that link with other important molecules to promote cellular function. Ceramides help create a barrier to prevent permeability. This locks moisture into your skin, which helps prevent dryness and irritation. It may also help protect your epidermis from environmental damage. These benefits may have anti-aging effects. Fine lines and wrinkles are often more noticeable when skin is dry. Locking in moisture may minimize their appearance.
Free Fatty Acid (Cholesterol) – within the skin, cholesterol, plays a big part in keeping skin looking plump and bouncy. Cholesterol in the skin decreases as we age, noting that most people start to see signs of this occurring in their 30s and 40s. Dryness, dullness, and laxity are all indicators of decreased cholesterol, but you can topically apply it, which will stabilize the skin, prime the protective barrier, and seal moisture in for better hydration. While it’s effective when used alone, applying a lipid “trifecta” of cholesterol, ceramides, and fatty acids. Together, ceramides and cholesterol help hydrate the skin, smooth the outer layer, optimize the epidermis’ protective barrier, and improve elasticity.
Because ceramides and cholesterol are produced by your body, the skin has an easy time recognizing them when you apply them topically. Supplementing the skin’s stockpile of these lipids at once hydrates and plumps skin, and protects it from chronic dry-skin conditions like eczema and dermatitis all the way to redness.
Ethyl Linoleate (Vitamin F) – Ethyl Linoleate or Vitamin F (Linoleic Acid) in one form gives the skin a good touch. It also helps to balance the skin’s moisture. Reduce excess oil. Restore the outer layer of the protective barrier. Vitamin F is used as an emollient. Coupled with the other two forms of Vitamin F ethyl ester (ethyl linoleate and ethyl linoleate), the trio is intended to treat dry, seborrheic skin with damaged lipid barrier and dry scalp and skin.
Ethyl Linoleate or Vitamin F (Linoleic Acid) in one form gives the skin a good touch. It also helps to balance the skin’s moisture. Reduce excess sebum (excess sebum secretion), restore the outer layer of the skin barrier. Suitable for dry, chapped skin, tender skin, as well as for skin that exerts an excessive level of sebum.
How does Oryza® Moisturizer work?
The outermost layer of the skin is called the stratum corneum, which is made up of cells called corneocytes. The purpose of this important layer is to protect the skin from bacteria or allergens as well as to help the skin retain water and other important substances necessary for skin protection.
The corneocytes are embedded and supported by a lipid-rich matrix to help keep the normal function of this important skin barrier. The skin barrier can be visualized as corneocytes representing the “bricks of a wall”, and the rich lipid matrix the “mortar”.
When this system breaks down, many skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis can present themselves. Oryza® forms a tri-lipid layer on the top of the skin, allowing for more moisturization and facilitating an optimum environment for skin barrier repair.
Managing Your Atopic Dermatitis with EpiCeram generic
Skin Barrier Repair is Key to managing your Atopic Dermatitis. Your healthcare professional has diagnosed your itchy, red, irritated skin as atopic dermatitis, a chronic condition, commonly referred to as eczema.
Moisturizing Alone is Not Skin Barrier Repair. Typical moisturizers contain an occlusive ingredient, like petrolatum, which forms a temporary film on the surface of your skin to slow water loss. The addition of a humectant helps your skin feel better by drawing moisture from below the surface of the skin. You will need to do more than moisturize to maintain a healthy skin barrier.
Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer contains in its formulation components to address the 3 main attributes a barrier repair product should include:
- Humectants: to attract water to the epidermis
- Occlusives: to retard water loss
- Functional Ingredients: may help decrease inflammation, reduce itching, and provide agents to simulate the intercellular lipids
Doing More with EpiCeram generic Skin Barrier Emulsion. Deliver a tri-lipid protectant barrier, which helps retain moisture, helps restore the pH, and allows the skin to heal. Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer contains 3 essential lipids – ceramides, cholesterol, and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA)–in a physiologically balanced 3:1:1 ratio to help the management of skin barrier repair. Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer is formulated at a healthy pH of 5.0.
A healthy skin barrier keeps moisture in and irritants out. Use Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer to provide moisture and a temporary protective barrier to help skin repair itself.
Normal Healthy Skin Barrier. In normal skin, the skin barrier prevents excess water loss and prevents invasion by micro-organisms/allergens and chemicals.
Skin Barrier in Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema). When the skin barrier is broken down, as it is in diseases such as atopic dermatitis (eczema), there is a reduction in the key lipids of the stratum corneum (ceramide, cholesterol, and free fatty acids). This allows for greater loss of moisture and the entry of microbes and allergens.
Moisturizers. Moisturizers re-hydrate the skin and contain humectants and occlusives. Humectants like glycerin attract water into the corneocytes. Occlusives like petroleum jelly provide a physical barrier to seal in moisture and prevent water loss. These ingredients provide temporary relief for dry skin but do not correct the underlying problem in the matrix.
Barrier Repair with Oryza. In addition to moisturizing the skin with ingredients such as glycerin and petrolatum, Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer replenishes the lipids in the stratum corneum by providing three essential ingredients, ceramide, cholesterol, and free fatty acid in a patented 3:1:1 ratio that mimics the natural level of the stratum corneum (outermost layer of the skin). Oryza® 3:1:1 Skin Moisturizer helps repair the skin barrier by replenishing key lipids and may accelerate the healing process.
