Description
What is Benzoyl Peroxide 4% Creamy Wash Lotion Paknet®
Paknet® Creamy Wash is an antibacterial medication used to treat acne, containing benzoyl peroxide 4 percent as the active ingredient. Acne appears as spots or pimples on your face, chest or back. This medicine works by attacking the bacteria that cause them. Paknet® Creamy Wash may be used alone or with other acne treatments. You should use it as advised by your doctor. The leaflet that comes with the product will also give instructions which you should read to get the most out of this medicine. Benzoyl peroxide is an antibacterial agent with demonstrated activity against Propionibacterium acnes. This action, combined with the mild keratolytic effect of benzoyl peroxide is believed to be responsible for its usefulness in acne.
You should normally wash the face area twice daily with this creamy lotion. You should not apply it to damaged or broken skin and avoid contact with your mouth, eyes and nose. It may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve and several months to get maximum benefit. Consult your doctor after a month of regular use of this medicine, if your condition is not improving.
Paknet® Creamy Wash has some common side effects including itching, stinging, peeling and redness of the skin. They are not usually serious but, if they bother you or do not go away, tell your doctor. You may need to apply smaller amounts or use it less often. This medicine can make you more sensitive to sunlight. While using it you should try to avoid exposure to too much sunlight. If this is unavoidable, apply the gel in the evening. It can also bleach hair and fabrics including clothes so be careful to avoid contact with these. It is a safe medicine, but you should tell your doctor if you have other skin conditions and if you are taking any other medicines, especially those applied to the skin. It may not be suitable if you have very sensitive skin. Ask your doctor about using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Normally I don’t like any cleanser that foams or lathers, but this one is good. The 4% benzoyl peroxide keeps my adult acne under control without irritating my skin. I use a nickel size amount on a wet face and massage it in for about 30 seconds, and then rinse with tepid water. I recommend starting with a once a day application until your skin gets used to the benzoyl peroxide. You can work your way up to using it twice a day if you feel you need it. I’ve just ordered my second tube of this stuff from okdemro. It can be hard to find, but it’s definitely worth seeking out.

Found this as a prescription sample that I had had for some years. Was so pleased to find it OTC, A great product, less drying or abrasive than ProActiv.

Love this cleanser! I’ve been battling cystic acne and this cleanser cleared them up. It can be a little drying but a good moisturizer can fix that (I use hyaluronic acid). Highly recommended!
