Pyosan® Gum Paint contains Potassium Iodide and Iodine that acts as antiseptic and anti-infective that kills bacteria. Tannic acid acts as an astringent that causes contraction and prevents bleeding of the soft tissues making them firm. Menthol acts as a local analgesic (relieves pain) and gives the sensation of coolness which gives some relief from the pain. Camphor acts as a mild analgesic, which provides relief from pain. Thymol acts as an antiseptic and antibacterial property, thus reducing oral infections. It is indicated in the treatment of painful gum disorders, inflamed and bleeding gums, teething pain, and irritation, stomatitis (inflammation of the mucous lining of the mouth).
