What is Rejusure® AHA 2% + BHA 2% Face Wash?
Rejusure 2% AHA + 2% BHA Face Wash purifies the skin from excess sebum, dead skin, makeup, and debris. Using the exfoliating properties of alpha-hydroxy acids, it peels damaged and dull skin to reveal a bright, radiant complexion.
Gentle chemical exfoliation helps skin pores expel the accumulated debris inside their canals. It evacuates clogged skin glands, which subsequently firm and tighten. Hence, exfoliation creates a glassy, smooth skin surface.
By purifying pores and follicles, exfoliation prevents comedones (whiteheads and blackheads) from inflammation and progressing to acne. The alpha and beta hydroxy acids in Rejusure s face wash change the skin structure.
They make the skin an unfavorable environment for bacteria that feed on skin debris. Skin bacterias are attracted to clogged pores because they lack oxygen and provide nourishment. Exfoliation keeps sebum levels low and prevents debris and dead skin from building up inside the skin glands’ canals.
What are AHA and BHA?
Alpha hydroxy acids and beta hydroxy acids are skin peeling agents found in foods like sugarcane (glycolic acid) or sour milk (lactic acid), or willow bark (salicylic acid). Hydroxy acids are not recent in the skincare ingredients. People have been using them for beauty since the first century AD.
Beta hydroxy acids are fat-soluble, meaning they can easily infiltrate the skin and gain sebum-secreting glands. Therefore, they are more efficient at treating existing acne overnight.
Salicylic acid is the most common beta hydroxy acid in skincare products, the same compound in aspirin. It alleviates factors involved in acne breakouts. Because salicylic acid is fat-soluble, it can cut through sebum in clogged pores and exfoliate glands from the inside. It clears the build-up of debris, dead skin, bacteria, and skin secretions. Additionally, it kills acne-causing bacteria.
- Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA): AHAs are water-soluble acids made from sugary fruits. They help peel away the surface of your skin so that new, more evenly pigmented skin cells may generate and take their place.
- Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA): Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) is best for acne-prone skin. It is good at penetrating deep into the pores, loosening dead skin cells, and helping clear clogged pores and blackheads.
Alpha hydroxy acids are water-soluble and are gentler on dehydrated skin. They have humectant properties and can draw moisture to the skin.
Alpha hydroxy acids are superficial to medium skin peeling agents. They exfoliate the stratum corneum. Exfoliation is a controlled skin injury in which damaged, old, dull skin cells die. New and fresh cells replace the old ones. Increased cell turnover boosts the synthetic capacity of fibroblasts, subsequently enhancing collagen production. New cells and collagen increase skin thickness, filling creases and reducing fine lines’ length and depth.
Exfoliation corrects irregular melanin production. It keeps an even melanin secretion, leading to lesser hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
