Demelan Lite Lotion is developed by reputable manufacturer Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. This skin polishing and depigmenting cream consist of two main active components pTeroWhite and 40% Licorice Extract in a lotion base. PteroWhite® works to inhibit melanin synthesis and inhibit tyrosinase production, which inhibits melanin production, which promotes a more even skin tone and reduces hyper-pigmentation. Main components of Demelan Lite® Lotion

pTeroWhite: Derived from pterostilbene, a more stable analog of resveratrol found in red sandalwood, blueberries, and grapes. PteroWhite® is a natural ingredient that eliminates localized hyperpigmentation, brightens skin, and works as an anti-oxidant, free radical scavenger, and anti-inflammatory when used topically. The main functions are anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and skin lightening.

PteroWhite® works to inhibit melanin synthesis and inhibit tyrosinase production, which inhibits melanin production, which promotes a more even skin tone and reduces hyper-pigmentation. As a free radical scavenger and anti-oxidant, it works to inhibit lipid peroxidation in cells and is more effective than kojic acid or resveratrol in vitro tests. As an anti-inflammatory, it inhibits cytokines and COX-2 enzymes and has been demonstrated to be more effective in vitro than resveratrol. As a water-insoluble ingredient (soluble in ethanol), it’s safe and non-irritating when used topically.

Generally, PteroWhite® is a proprietary natural pterostilbene ingredient for cosmetic application, extracted from the dried heartwood of Pterocarpus marsupium. It functions as a skin conditioning agent with skin lightening and antioxidant properties. Pterostilbene is a double-methylated version of resveratrol exhibiting a higher bioavailability as it is more easily transported into the cell and more resistant to degradation and elimination. It also enhances the properties produced by resveratrol.

Licorice Extract 40%: Natural extract of licorice roots (glycyrrhiza glabra). Licorice is native to the Mediterranean region with striated stalks of about 1m tall.
