What is Pregator® Capsule | Lyrica CR Generic
Pregator Capsule is manufactured by reputable Micro Laboratories. Pregator is used in the treatment of Neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is the pain caused by damage or disease affecting the sensory nerves. The damaged nerve can cause dysesthesia (altered or abnormal sensations) or allodynia (pain to stimuli that don’t normally cause pain). The pain may be continuous and/or intermittent. It may be felt as a tingling, prickling, stabbing or burning pain.
Pregator Capsule is a combination of five medicines: Alpha Lipoic Acid, Folic Acid, Methylcobalamin/Mecobalamin, Pregabalin and Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine). Alpha Lipoic Acid is a naturally occurring fatty acid which has a protective effect on the brain and nerve tissues. Folic Acid provides essential nutrients to the nerves. Methylcobalamin/Mecobalamin and Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) are forms of vitamin B which help in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibers and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Pregabalin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).
Pregabalin is used with other medicines in Pregator Capsules to help control partial seizures (convulsions) in the treatment of epilepsy in patients 4 years of age and older. This medicine will not cure epilepsy and will only work to control seizures for as long as you continue to take it. Pregabalin is also used for postherpetic neuralgia (pain that occurs after shingles) and pain caused by nerve damage from diabetes or a spinal cord injury. Pregabalin capsule is also used to treat a condition called fibromyalgia (muscle pain and stiffness). Pregabalin works in the central nervous system (CNS) to control seizures and pain. It is an anticonvulsant and neuropathic pain agent.
