Lox 5% Lidocaine Ointment is made by reputable Neon Laboratories. Lox 5% Lidocaine Ointment is a local topical anaesthetic solution which contains Lidocaine 5%. Primarily used for the following conditions – anal fissure, local anaesthesia (numb tissues in a specific area), piles, a topical anaesthetic for tattooing. You should not use Lox Lidocaine 5% Ointment topical if you are allergic to any type of numbing medicine. You are allergic to any other local anaesthetics of the same class (such as prilocaine or bupivacaine). You must not be given Lidocaine if any of the above apply to you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor before you are given Lidocaine.
Lidocaine 5% topical (also known as lignocaine, and xylocaine) works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to a brain which decreases the sensation of pain. Lidocaine belongs to a class of medications called as local anaesthetics. It works by stopping the sensation of pain by acting on peripheral nerves in the body. Lidocaine 5% topical (for use on the skin) is used to reduce pain or discomfort caused by skin irritations such as sunburn, insect bites, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, and minor cuts, scratches, or burns. Lidocaine topical is also used to treat rectal discomfort caused by haemorrhoids. Lidocaine is safe if used in the prescribed dose for a prescribed duration as advised by your doctor.
