KEY ACTIVE SUBSTANCES OF KOJIGLO GEL
Kojic Acid Dipalmitate 2% – more efficient and stable form of kojic and palmitic acid which inhibits the activity of tyrosinase, thereby blocking the activity and the formation of melanin, it’s a natural Hydroquinone alternative. Kojic acid is produced from fermented rice and fungus such as mushrooms and is also a chemical compound that can lighten melasma caused by excess pigment in the skin. It is thought to be just as effective as hydroquinone in treating skin pigmentation problems without causing sensitivity and toxic reactions. This natural substance oxidizes quickly and must be stored in a tight bottle away from heat and light.
Arbutin 1.5% – lightens the skin and inhibits the activity of the cells that synthesize melanin. Arbutin is a skincare ingredient that is derived from the leaves of the mulberry, cranberry, and blueberry plants. It is also considered to be the natural form of hydroquinone. Arbutin works with a similar mechanism as hydroquinone, by suppressing the production of excess melanin.
Octinoxate 7.5% – a secure organic sunscreen broad-spectrum (UVB / UBA) on the basis of cinnamic acid. Octinoxate, also called Octyl methoxycinnamate or (OMC), is a UV filter. It can be absorbed rapidly through the skin. Octinoxate has been detected in human urine, blood and breast milk, which indicates that humans are systemically exposed to this compound. Octinoxate is an endocrine disruptor that mimics estrogen and can disrupt thyroid function. Octinoxate filters UV‐B rays from the sun. Octinoxate dissolves in oil, which makes it a fat-seeking substance in the body. It is formed by combining methoxy cinnamic acid and 2-ethyl hexanol- compounds that are not harmful on their own. When mixed together, they form a clear liquid that does not dissolve in water. It is found in hair color products and shampoos, sunscreen, lipstick, nail polish, and skin creams. In products other than sunscreens, it is used as a UV filter to protect the products from degrading when exposed to the sun.
Pine Bark Extract 2% – a strong natural ingredient that improves skin elasticity, strengthens capillaries and has antioxidant, anti-virus, as well as the anti-inflammatory effect. Pine bark extract, also known as Pycnogenol, is derived from the Pinus pinaster plant and contains potent antioxidants called proanthocyanidins, which are responsible for most of its effects. Research suggests that supplementing with pine bark extract can provide an abundance of benefits that enhance overall health.
Allantoin 0.4% – a moisturizing and healing active agent that has a strong anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial activity. Allantoin stimulates healthy tissue formation and enhances healing while acting as a skin protectant. Allantoin in high concentrations used in Mederma cream and is prescribed as a scar treatment solution.
