WHAT IS ERAZIT ERYTHROMYCIN 4% CREAM
Erazit ® contains 4% Erythromycin and manufactured by reputable ZYG Pharma. Erazit is an acne-specific antibiotic preparation used for the treatment of acne. Each gram of gel contains 20mg of Erythromycin in a gel base substance that is washed with water. Erythromycin is a class of antibiotics belonging to the macrolide class, produced by the Streptomyces erythreus fungus. Erazit® Erythromycin 4% Acne cream is used for topical treatment of acne vulgaris especially in the form of inflammation with papules and pustules. Erazit Acne gel shall not be used against people who are hypersensitive to Erythromycin or other ingredients contained therein.
Erythromycin 4% is an antibiotic useful for the treatment of a number of bacterial infections. This includes skin infections, inflammatory dermal conditions, chlamydia infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, and syphilis. It may also be used during pregnancy to prevent Group B streptococcal infection in the newborn. Erythromycin was first isolated in 1952 from the bacteria Saccharopolyspora erythraea. It is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines, the most effective and safe medicines needed in a health system.
ERAZIT ERYTHROMYCIN 4% CREAM MECHANISM OF ACTION
Erythromycin 4% displays bacteriostatic activity or inhibits the growth of bacteria, especially at higher concentrations, but the mechanism is not fully understood. By binding to the 50s subunit of the bacterial rRNA complex, protein synthesis and subsequent structure and function processes critical for life or replication are inhibited. Erythromycin 4% interferes with aminoacyl translocation, preventing the transfer of the tRNA bound at the A site of the rRNA complex to the P site of the rRNA complex. Without this translocation, the A site remains occupied, thus the addition of an incoming tRNA and its attached amino acid to the nascent polypeptide chain is inhibited. This interferes with the production of functionally useful proteins, which is the basis of this antimicrobial action. Erythromycin increases gut motility by binding to Motilin, thus it is a Motilin receptor agonist in addition to its antimicrobial properties.
Erythromycin 4% topical is an antibiotic that fights skin infection caused by bacteria. Erythromycin topical (for the skin) is used to treat bacterial infections such as severe acne. Use Erazit Erythromycin topical cream exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.
HOW TO USE ERAZIT ERYTHROMYCIN 4% CREAM
Erazit Erythromycin 4% is for use on the skin only. Clean and dry the affected area as directed. Then apply a thin layer of the medication on the skin and rub in gently, usually twice a day or as directed by your doctor. Wash your hands after use. Do not use large amounts or apply this more often or for a longer period than directed. Your condition will not clear faster, but the risk of side effects may be increased. Use Erymed cream regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. Remember to use it at the same times each day. Avoid getting Erymed in your eyes or inside the nose or mouth. If this occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens. It may take up to 3 months of regular use before the full benefits of Erymed cream take effect.
SIDE EFFECTS OF ERAZIT ERYTHROMYCIN 4% CREAM
Erazit Erythromycin 4% cream may cause skin irritation, redness, or peeling, especially in the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. Eye irritation may also occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.
