Description

What is Dutasteride 0.5mg Duprost | Avodart Generic

Duprost capsules 0.5mg are used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which is an enlarged prostate gland. Duprost capsules 0.5mg help to shrink the prostate and reduce the risk of urinary retention caused by restricted urine flow as the prostate gland becomes enlarged and presses against the urethra (urine outlet tube from the bladder), which helps urine to flow more easily, prevents urine backlog in the bladder and restores bladder control. This relieves symptoms like the need for frequent urination, inability to empty the bladder, strain, and difficulty passing urine.

The improved urine flow and reduction in symptoms may reduce the need for surgery due to moderate to severe symptoms of BHP. As a side effect of its intended use, Duprost capsules 0.5mg are also used to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) by increasing hair growth and preventing further hair loss from all areas of the scalp, including the front. This can reverse balding in men with mild to moderate hair loss but does not restore hair that has been lost for a long time. Duprost capsules 0.5mg are not used to treat hair loss in women.

Warning: Exposure of women – Risk to male fetus: Dutasteride is absorbed through the skin. Therefore, women who are pregnant or may be pregnant should not handle dutasteride soft gelatin capsules because of the possibility of absorption of dutasteride and the potential risk of a foetal anomaly to a male foetus.

How Dutasteride 0.5mg Duprost | Avodart Generic work

Duprost 0.5mg capsules contain dutasteride that specifically inhibits the action of both forms (type I and type II) of the enzyme 5α-reductase, that convert the male hormone testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the skin and the liver. DHT is the androgen primarily responsible for the development and growth of the prostate gland. DHT also causes benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) which is when the prostate becomes enlarged.

Duprost capsules 0.5mg reduce the levels of DHT in the blood, so that prostate growth is no longer stimulated in men with BPH allowing the enlarged prostate to shrink. DHT, which is also found in hair follicles, is the androgen responsible for hair loss, as it causes hair follicles in the scalp to gradually shrink producing smaller and thinner hairs, which eventually do not emerge from the follicle. Duprost capsules 0.5 mg (Avodart alternative) reverses the balding process as it blocks the build-up of DHT in the hair follicles of the scalp, allowing the hair to grow normally.

I have found Duprost highly effective at treating symptoms of my enlarged prostate but it is a long-term drug. It took me about 2 months to start seeing an improvement in my bph symptoms and I really noticed major improvement by month 5. So I’m glad I stuck to my doctor’s advice to give it time. She also went over the side effects very carefully with me noting it can be a good drug for some men and a poor drug for others. What discourages a lot of men is that while the benefits take months the side effects hit you after a few days. A reduction in sexual interest will happen. You need to consider that ahead of time before going on it. If you currently enjoy a good sex life you should avoid this drug if possible. But if you are in a sexless marriage like me- reasonably common by the bph age, then maybe the side effects are welcome. In my case, my wife is in menopause and I like my decreased desire

dutasteride is awesome! been using it for 2 years. the prostate is tiny now. the hairline is growing back, body hair is reduced, although I didn’t have that much before. The sexual side effect, semen volume is definitely reduced, however no problems with erection or orgasm when I have a stimulating subject

From everything I’ve read Avodart or Duprost is supposed to shrink your prostate and/or lower PSA levels over a certain period of time. Been on a combo of Flomax and Duprost for almost 18 months now and my PSA level is still elevated (5-7, age 65). Also, have low-grade cancer 3+3 on Gleason score. Urinary issues have certainly improved, however, and no serious side effects seen as yet. Will see how this plays out.
