It works by blocking certain chemicals that cause pain and swelling.
Dexona® Tablets are manufactured, including an active ingredient called dexamethasone, a synthetic corticosteroid. Corticosteroids are used to treat various diseases, including minor allergic reactions to severe autoimmune disorders. Dexona® Tablets can be used successfully in treating diseases that result in inflammation. Infections, allergies, autoimmune conditions, and cancers can be treated using various classes of corticosteroids.
Dexona® Tablets can provide anti-inflammatory results within the human body, so it can be used in treating ulcerative colitis, inflammation following tumors, arthritis conditions, respiratory conditions, and dexamethasone can improve appetite.
Dexamethasone is commonly used to treat symptoms associated with cancers, tumors, and after chemotherapy. There are various dexamethasone dosage forms, but the tablet form is used and administered orally. The adrenal glands naturally produce corticosteroids within our bodies. Synthetic corticosteroids can be used as a replacement therapy when the adrenal glands fail to produce the desired amount daily. Other than that, synthetic forms are used to boost the corticosteroid concentration within the bloodstream. Dexona® Tablets can suppress inflammation and allergic responses and inhibit the immune system’s function. Dexona® Tablets prevent the action of white blood cells and prevent them from entering the inflamed regions within the body. Corticosteroids can suppress inflammation directly by inhibiting the chemical pathways that signal the inflammation.
There are situations where we need to keep human immunity suppressed. Immunity is a natural defense mechanism that protects us from various external factors, but unfortunately, the immune system identifies its body cells as foreign bodies and destroys them. In such conditions, immunity is kept suppressed using corticosteroids. So daily Dexona® Tablets doses can help those patients to keep their immunity suppressed.
Human immunity will recognize it as a foreign body after transplanting an organ, tissue, or cells from a donor. Therefore the immunity is suppressed to prevent organ rejection. Naturally, corticosteroids get a blood peak in the morning. So it is recommended to administer Dexona® Tablets early in the morning. It is advised not to stop steroid usage abruptly. The dose can be reduced slowly so the adrenal glands will signal the adrenal cells to produce the corticosteroids naturally relative to the serum corticosteroid levels. This mechanism is called tailing off.
