What is Cerebrolysin Injection?

Cerebrolysin Injection is a medicine used in the treatment of stroke, head injury, and Alzheimer’s disease. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines, depending on the illness it is being used for. Cerebrolysin Injection is a nerve-repairing medicine. It works on the brain by repairing nerve cells and improving their survival.

Cerebrolysin has also been studied for potential use with a wide variety of neurodegenerative disorders, though research is preliminary. Cochrane reviews suggest no benefit in the treatment of acute stroke and an increased rate of spontaneous adverse events requiring hospitalization. Conversely, reviews suggest a positive effect when cerebrolysin is used with vascular dementia. Cerebrolysin Injection is administered as an injection under the supervision of a healthcare professional and should not be self-administered. The most common side effects of this medicine include headache, nausea, vertigo, sweating, agitation, fever, hallucinations, confusion, and flu-like syndrome. These are temporary and usually resolve on their own. Please consult your doctor if these do not subside or bother you.

When to use Cerebrolysin Solution for Injection?

In Stroke. A stroke is a medical emergency that occurs due to damage to the brain. Cerebrolysin Injection helps in speeding up the recovery process in patients who have undergone a stroke. It decreases brain damage, promotes healing, and enhances the overall health of the patient.

In Head injury. In cases of head injury, damage to the brain may cause further complications. Cerebrolysin Injection helps the damaged tissues to heal faster and improves the patient condition. It is usually given for a longer duration. Keep taking it as prescribed to get maximum benefit.

In Alzheimer’s disease. Cerebrolysin Injection improves learning, memory, and information processing (cognitive function) in people with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease.
