How to Minimize Irritation & Redness With Retin-A

How to Minimize Irritation & Redness With Retin-A

Table of Contents

Retin-A is cream that consists of tretinoin and treats many of skin problems such as acne, fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. As it’s high resultative method to improve your skin condition it also has its side effects. The main consequences of using Retin-A is light irritation and redness as far as tretinoin helps our skin to renew faster than it does regularly. But if you pay attention to your skin behaviour and sensitivity and pick right strength of Retin-A that would fit you the most plus propper applying and moisturizers you will get the most of Retin-A.

Step 1

You should consult your dermatologist first to find out which strengths will treat your skin in the most effective way. Retin-A should be applied every evening after meticulously washing your face on the absolutely dry skin, according. Using more cream doesn’t enhance the effect, but may cause a lot of irritation and redness. It’s better to apply a little of cream as it possible, just to cover all the problematic skin with a thin layer of Retin-A.

Step 2

The best time to start tretinoin acne or wrinkle treatment is a cold time of the year – winter time because Retin-A makes your skin more susceptible to sun rays. It’s necessary to be away of the sun and use sunscreen. Recommended using SPF 30 or higher up to SPF 100. Don’t forget to apply it everytime you go outside.

Step 3

If you experience some redness or irritation and want to cover it up then the best solution is the foundation with yellow pigment or mineral powder. It’s the fact that yellow-dyed foundations cover red skin problems the best. But if you experience red stains in just several areas, it would be better to use concealer (liquid, stick or cream ones). Very useful can be applying Lactic Acid creams or using Retin-A Micro gels with a special formula that protects skin from irritation and redness.

Step 4

While Retin-A course our skin needs an additional moisturizing. We have to moisturize our skin both at morning and at the night to save it humidified 24 hours. It’d help to decrease redness and irritation. We advise using oil-free creams to cover unprotected fresh and new skin made by Retin-A. Recommended using quality medicated moisturizers – Efaderm or Vitamin E Cream.
